4-H & Youth Programs
4-H is a fun and educational program for children ages 5-18. The 4-H program is
sponsored by North Carolina Cooperative Extension and is dedicated to helping boys
and girls develop life skills needed to be contributing members of their communities.
Children of all racial, cultural, economic, and social backgrounds are welcome to
participate in 4-H educational programs. 4-H is open to farm kids AND city kids
- you do not have to live on a farm to enjoy 4-H opportunities!

Forsyth County 4-H has planned a number of fun, educational and inexpensive programs for the summer. Spaces are limited, so register soon!

April Bowman, 4-H Agent, received the Excellence Award at the Governor’s Awards Ceremony for her volunteer administration work with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center. Teresa Bryant, a social worker with the Department of Social Services and the 2012-2013 Piedmont Regional Association of Volunteer Administrators, Co-Chair presented the award.

N.C. 4-H has five 4-H centers across the state and has programs for youth ages 5-18 at reasonable rates. Depending on the camp you choose, youth can ride horses, participate in archery, canoeing, swimming, arts and crafts and much more including cook-outs and campfires.
