Food for Fines, June 1-30

The Forsyth County Public Library is excited to announce the return of our very popular Food for Fines campaign. Donations will be accepted during the month of June. All collected food items will be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC to help in the fight against hunger in our community.

Wet Paint! Limited Access to Materials and Faxing at Southside Branch

The Southside Branch remains open while painting continues through May 24. The fax machine and several adult fiction and nonfiction shelves will have limited access. Please check with staff first if you need materials or faxing during this painting project. Call 336-703-2980.

May Reading Challenge: Read For Travel to New Destinations

While not everyone can take a summer vacation, reading a book can always help you travel to someplace new and exciting. This month’s reading challenge is to read a book set in a place you have never visited. It can be somewhere you’d like to visit (Hawaii for example where “The Descendants” by Hemmings is set) or a place you are unlikely to ever get a chance to go (like in “The Martian” by Weir). This challenge is fairly broad and allows you to use your imagination.

Summer Kickoff Blood Drive

Give someone a shot this summer! Before you start your summer vacation, lend a hand by lending your arm. Help someone in your community this summer by donating blood. The American Red Cross will be on-site at the Lewisville Branch Library on Thursday, May 30th from 11 am - 3:30 pm. Appointments are preferred. Please call (336)703-2940. Walk-ins are also welcome.

FCPL's 2nd Annual Food Truck Day

Join us on the lawn at Central Library for our 2nd Annual Food Truck Day on Saturday, July 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children will have Storytime on the Lawn at 11 a.m., and everyone can enjoy lawn games, music, and family-friendly movies in the auditorium.
