Documentary: "Apollo 11"

In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission (July 16-24), we'll be showing the new documentary "Apollo 11" on Tuesday, July 16 at 2 p.m. The documentary shows never-before-seen footage of the mission and interviews by Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. All ages welcome. Produced by NEON.

Family Movie Night at the Lewisville Branch Library

Join us for our monthly Family Movie Night on Monday, July 22 at 5 p.m. We'll be showing "Dumbo" produced by Walt Disney Pictures. A young elephant, whose oversized ears enable him to fly, helps save a struggling circus, but when the circus plans a new venture, Dumbo and his friends discover dark secrets beneath its shiny veneer. Making Proud Choices: An Evidence-Based, Safer-Sex Approach to Teen Pregnancy and HIV/STD Prevention

Making Proud Choices is a free three day long training that provides those 12-18 years old with the knowledge, confidence and skills necessary to reduce their risk of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), HIV and pregnancy by abstaining from sex or using condoms and birth control methods if they choose to have sex. It will be Aug. 5 - 7 from 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. each day (a lunch will be provided) at the Lewisville Branch Library. Registration and a waiver/permission form is required.

Understanding Dementia

Wake Forest Baptist Health's Memory Counseling Program will be offering a series of workshops on Understanding Dementia at several Forsyth County Public Libraries in 2019: June 25, July 16, August 13, September 3, October 15, and November 5. All of the programs will start at 6 p.m.
