2016 Sheriff’s Citizen Academy
The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2nd annual Sheriff’s Citizens Academy.
The Academy is an 8-week program that will meet on Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office located at 301 North Church Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101. Classes will begin on Sept. 8, 2016 and run for 8 consecutive weeks until Oct. 27, 2016.
In keeping with our organizational values “Trust, Integrity and Compassion” the Sheriff’s Citizen Academy of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, is designed to nurture public trust through informing our citizens of the crucial role the Sheriff’s Office serves in Forsyth County. The Academy is a community relations program and is not designed to train citizens to be deputy sheriffs or to be our representative; rather it gives the citizens a basic but realistic view of what the Sheriff’s Office really does. The Sheriff’s Citizen Academy is intended to be an interactive program involving participants in “hands on” activities.
The Sheriff’s Citizen Academy is held without cost to the participants. To enroll, each participant must complete an application which can be obtained by visiting our website at www.fcso.us or by calling 336-917-7302.
