Breastfeeding Community Resource Guide Available Online
The Coalitions and Community Engagement Section announces the availability of a Breastfeeding Community Resource Guide on the Forsyth County Department of Public Health website. The guide contains resources such as community organizations, medical center information, hotlines, and online resources that are specifically for breastfeeding found within and outside of the Forsyth County area.
This guide is geared toward providing assistance in the form of a compilation of resources for businesses that are initiating or have already established a lactation program. Therefore, the information found in the guide can be of particular aid to working mothers and companies.
Breastfeeding is recommended by all major medical organizations as the optimal way to feed infants because of its significant health advantages. These health advantages include healthier mothers and positively benefit companies, including lowering health care cost.
