Greater Vision Dance Company

The Greater Vision Dance Company performs traditional African dances as well as a boot dance. Company founder and artistic director, Wayne Jones, will discuss the origins of African-American traditional step dance. Open to all ages on Saturday, Feb. 29 at noon at the Malloy/Jordan East Winston Heritage Center, 1110 E' 7th Street, Winston-Salem.


Myron Brown: Free Piano Concert February 29 at Walkertown

Every four years, we get an extra day on the calendar. We hope you will “leap” over to the Walkertown Branch Library and enjoy a free afternoon concert. Pianist Myron D. Brown, Associate Professor of Music at Winston-Salem State University, will perform music by Chopin, Liszt, and Kapustin. Saturday, February 29, 2 p.m. at the Walkertown Branch Library.


Jim Tobias: Woodworking Show & Reception February 29 at Walkertown

A woodworking exhibit by Jim Tobias of HJT Woods will be on display in the lobby of Walkertown Branch Library through the end of February. The exhibit features decorative multi-wood boxes as well as the unique process that Tobias uses to turn sweet gumballs into decorative pendants. The reception will take place on Saturday, February 29, at 12 noon.


Pre-K Priority Community Forums Discuss How to Help Forsyth County Children

The Pre-K Priority will be holding a series of community forums at Forsyth County Public Library branches to discuss how Forsyth County can better provide high quality, affordable early childcare.


Early Voting at the Library

Out of an abundance of caution the Forsyth County Board of Elections has unanimously agreed to change the One Stop Early Voting Hours for Thursday and Friday in today's emergency meeting. The 11 early voting locations will open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, and 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday, February 21.


Free Tax Assistance at the Library

The library will once again partner with volunteers from Forsyth Free Tax and AARP to offer tax assistance at many locations throughout Forsyth County, including several libraries.
