Sample the cuisine of different African countries at the Lewisville Branch Library on Friday, Sept. 27 from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. Children and teens will present information and food from their choice of an African country. Everyone is welcome to come to learn about African countries and to sample the flavors of Africa. For children or teens to eat, a parent will need to sign a permission form (this can be signed ahead of time). If you are interested in presenting, please call 336-703-2940.
Teens will learn about the importance of kola nuts on Friday, Sept 6 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the Lewisville Branch Library. Children will learn about the beautiful beaded crowns of the Yoruba people in West Africa and build their own crown on Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 4:30- 5:30 p.m. at the Lewisville Branch Library. Everyone can learn about the culture of the Igbo people in Nigeria on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 4-5 p.m. at the Lewisville Branch Library.

This month we will be reading "West African Folk Tales" on Thursday, August 29, at 10 a.m. Then come aboard the bookmobile for a West African themed craft. Children and their caregivers are welcome to join us each week for storytimes in the Rural Hall Branch Library Auditorium. Toddler Storytime (birth-2 years old) meets every Monday from 11-11:30 a.m. and includes stories, songs, rhymes, and bubbles. Preschool Storytime (3-5 years old) meets every Thursday from 11-11:45 a.m. and includes stories, songs, flannel activities, rhymes, and a coloring activity.
