Forsyth County Central Library offers a Sound Production Studio, complete with software and
equipment. Reservations can be made by phone after completion of the required orientation
and agreement to our Sound Production Studio policy. Full details about the requirements for

Who Can Use the Sound Production Studio?
The Sound Production Room is open to valid Forsyth County Public Library and consortium
cardholders 18 years of age. Cardholders under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a
parent/guardian. The cardholder must be in good standing (no fines/fees) to reserve use of the
studio.
How Can I Use the Sound Production Studio?
Follow these steps to use the Sound Production Studio:
- Waiver: Complete a waiver, including a signature from a
parent or guardian, if applicable.
- Training: A studio orientation is required for first-time users before reserving and using the
space. Regular trainings will be scheduled by library staff at the Computer Services desk in
person or by phone at 336-703-3050.
- Reservations: Users can use the studio for two hours per day. Meeting rooms (including the
studio) may be booked no more than 45 days in advance, and no more than three
three bookings may be made in a 14-day period. Please remember to bring a personal USB to
your session to transfer and store your music files.
- The library does not provide one-on-one production recording assistance in the Sound
Production studio. User proficiency in using computers, software, and recording devices is
required.
- Check-In: Upon arrival, check in at the computer services Information desk. Users are
required to leave a photo ID with the staff member at the desk to use the sound production
room.
Your reservation will include use of the production computer, where you can use the mixing boards
and production software to create your own music, as well as the use of the studio to record your
vocals and/or any instruments you wish to play.

Space
- The studio is located on the 1st floor of the Central Library.
- The studio is just under 800 square feet.
- The studio is a Pro Tools and Garage Band enabled studio. People will not be able
to hook up their own personal computers to our system for recording. All work must
be saved on an external memory device.
- No food or drink allowed inside the studio.
